How many laser sessions are needed for smoking cessation?
One session is the prescribed treatment; however, we offer a back up session at no additional charge if you have not restarted smoking and feel another would be beneficial. Low level laser is currently being studied in the U.S. to see if it increases the body’s production of endorphins, thereby reducing or eliminating the physical withdrawal symptoms and cravings normally associated with quitting smoking, especially during the first few weeks. The first 72 hours are generally the most difficult time for a person to quit smoking.
Are there any health or medical conditions that would prevent me from participating in the laser therapy clinical research trial?
If you have cancer or epilepsy, are pregnant, or use a pacemaker, you should not participate. Not treating these clients is a precautionary measure. Alternative Laser Therapy does not diagnose or treat illness or prescribe medication. Laser therapy is not intended to replace medical care. We recommend that you consult your physician for a professional diagnosis of your health.
Is it guaranteed?
Alternative Laser Therapy is currently involved in a FDA clinical research trial to document the effectiveness of low level laser therapy for smoking cessation, weight control and stress management. Low level laser is being studied to see if it helps the client cope with physical urges and cravings. It does not take away your psychological addiction to nicotine. Each client has a unique level to his/her addiction, so laser therapy cannot be guaranteed.
